A small, but very interesting exhibition of Sabine Jesse-Kniesel drawings

What a great start it was for our new gallery, which will soon be preparing for Steven Bramble’s work in Art Week Exeter at the end of May.

In the meantime the gallery will be giving briefish home to a few witty drawings by Sabine Jesse-Kniesel, a German artist who was a spirited exhibitor in our past life on May Hill in Gloucestershire, as was Philip Weaver whose pages from a sketchbook mix lively drawings with journalistic descriptions. Not a big exhibition, that will come later, but a very interesting one!

Gordon Hill’s colourful expressions will remain up for a while, until his exploration of trees in various landscapes takes its place.

AND Peter Farrie singer/songwriter and an important participator in all our activities is launching his debut album at Exeter Phoenix on April 25th , book here.

The first exhibitions in our new gallery

Our new gallery space opened in March with exhibitions from Gareth Williams and Gordon Hill.

The opening of our new gallery

The snow did not deter the many who came to the opening of our new gallery on March 18th. We had a full house to enjoy the poetry of James Turner, the music of Ric White, tea, cake, conversation and not least the artwork of Gareth Williams and Gordon Hill.

Conversations in Colour

Our Age UK Budding Friends, gathering each week at Studio 36, are busily and enthusiastically creating artwork for the Conversations in Colour exhibition to start at the Barnfield Theatre on 5th May.

As can be seen above, actual conversations within the group are turned into fabulous works of art created by all of the participants.

Further interest and enjoyment has been achieved through the involvement of Professor Michael Schillmeier of Exeter University’s Sociology & Philosophy department. He has been taking an ethnographic approach to help to understand and engage with the questions, issues and requirements of the Budding Friends’ everyday life.
